I've just recently been hooked on Breaking Bad.
I had noticed a bunch of my friends talking about it on Facebook and the rest of the social media but I don't trust their taste in a lot of things given that most times they just do what others do (and very way too many do) & just do as we're told by the media.
But I'll get talk about that topic on some other post.
Just last weekend I hired Netflix (you know because some Ad online told me to, plus first month's free) and through a brief enquiry about my interests, it came up with an ok list of suggestions.
I checked the box when asked if I was into Cartoons because well...I really am, so my suggestions list was filled with Nickelodeon shows, Award Nominated & Winning films & 3 t.v. series:
*House Of Cards
*Breaking Bad
*Arrested Development
I adore Arrested Development and have watched most of it already, House Of Cards looks way too political and it's not something I'm into at the moment (though I love Kevin Spacey) so as redundant as it may seem...I chose Breaking Bad.
I kind of wished Breaking Bad was the superficial T.V. series that would only be useful in times of cultural references that will fade away by the time the show comes to an end this summer but the profound moral content of the show will most likely make it a permanent classic.
I'm not up to date with everything Mr. Vince Gilligan has done but I am well aware he already made a decade staple with the hit The X Files in the 90s but I cannot begin to express how much more amazing and captivating it is to capture the essence of human conduct, the concept of good vs. bad in such a raw manner than it was with aliens*.
I'm madly in love with Jesse Pinkman, which just goes to show I haven't really grown from the days when I was just a teenage girl who would have her panties up in a bunch over the bad guy with a good heart, no matter how many illegal things he's up to because HEY! It's what on the inside that counts!
The man broke my heart by the 4th episode of the second season. I saw it coming though.
Mr. White is probably every math, science and social studies teacher I ever had...only with lung cancer & a beautiful drug dealing mind that blinds him with ambition...and love for his family.
Anna Gunn does a hella good job annoying THE heck outta anyone as the disturbed, misunderstanding, pregnant, suburban wife.
Cheers to Anna Gunn.
Then there's Hank, the DEA cop who honestly just makes me think of the fat guys in porn. As twisted as it may seem. I disliked him up till the first episode of the second season.
